About the service

These terms cover the Claim Assistant website and evidence review service provided by VeteransInsights. Claim Assistant helps veterans and authorized representatives organize records, understand the supporting evidence, and identify questions to address before filing a claim.

VeteransInsights is an independent, veteran-owned business. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

What the review means

A readiness review describes evidence in the records available for analysis. It does not decide your claim, establish a disability rating, guarantee benefits, or replace an accredited representative or clinician.

Preparing a form or statement in Claim Assistant does not submit a claim to VA. A completed form is not a VA receipt. Review and sign documents as required, submit through the appropriate filing channel, and keep confirmation of submission.

Review the source documents and discuss findings with your representative. You remain responsible for filing decisions and deadlines. Read what we don’t do for the limits of our role.

Authorized and responsible use

Use the service only for records you are authorized to access. Representatives must have the appropriate authorization to act for the veteran whose records they review.

  • Provide accurate information and protect your sign-in credentials.
  • Do not access another person’s records without permission.
  • Do not bypass access controls, interfere with the service, or submit malicious files.
  • Report suspected unauthorized access through our contact page.

Your records and information

Your records remain yours. Your medical records stay in an isolated AWS GovCloud environment. Only authorized representatives can access your medical records. We do not download medical-record personally identifiable information (PII) to staff devices or copy it into public website systems. Each medical record is retained for 90 days from when it is first received, then deleted.

The public contact and demo forms are for enquiries. Do not use them to send medical records, Social Security numbers, VA file numbers, or dates of birth. Our Privacy Policy and Information Handling page explain how different kinds of information are handled.

05 / Terms of Use

Free for veterans

Veterans pay no subscription, no per-claim fee, and no share of a benefit award to use Claim Assistant. Organizational arrangements are addressed directly with the organization; requesting a demo does not create a purchase commitment.

Availability and accuracy

Results depend on the completeness and readability of the records available. A missing or unreadable document can affect an evidence review. Illustrative examples on the website are demonstrations and do not describe a real veteran’s claim.

The service may change or be temporarily unavailable for maintenance. Keep your original records and use the appropriate VA or representative channels for time-sensitive filing steps.
